Our senior partner, Bill Holohan, is a notary public.
A notary public is a public officer constituted by law to serve the public in non-contentious matters, usually concerned with foreign or international business. The acts of Notaries Public have worldwide recognition.
The notary public is empowered by law to:
- Administer oaths
- Authenticate documents.
- Witness signatures.
- Take affidavits (other than for the courts in Ireland).
- Take declarations.
Once a document has been signed by a Notary Public, an Apostille is stamped on the document by the Department of Foreign Affairs. An Apostille is a certificate issued by the Department of Foreign Affairs verifying the genuineness of the signature of the Notary Public.
